Okay your puppy may be small now but he is growing rapidly. And depending on your breed he may get large very fast. So how do you know the type of dog bed to get?

Lets start with shape:

These are the basic two shapes. To find the shape that will work best for your dog you need to observe his sleeping patterns, so that you can see his positions. Does he curl up when he sleeps? If so get a round bed. Does he stretch out? Then you will need a square bed preferably a mattress bed.

The next questions is the type of material the bed should be made out of. The basic filler material are solid foam or stuffing. Remember that an inexpensive bed will use cheap quality foam and the bed will flatten very quickly and your pup won’t want to sleep on it any more.
