The Irish Water Spaniel is the largest of the spaniels. The Irish Water Spaniel coat is covered in long loose curls on the body and shorter hair on the face and tail. The curly outer coat has a dense undercoat that insulates the dog from cold water.
The Irish Water Spaniel is intelligent, spirited and very devoted to its family with a strong desire to please. As a puppy this dog should be well socialized. He does great with children. This dog is quite and will only bark when he needs to warn his family of an issue, thus making this a great watch dog. However if this dog senses that their owner is passive they will become stubborn, mischievous, suspicious and even over protective.
Their Height: 20-23 inches (51-58cm), Weight: 45-65 pounds (20-30kg). With a life expectancy of about 10-12 years. They are prone to hip dysplasia, ear infections and hypo-thyroidism.
This dog needs plenty of exercise and loves to be in the outdoors, he does best in the suburbs or country.
The Vizsla is a medium sized hunting dog. His temperament is playful, alert and very active. He has boundless energy at the same time he is gentle and affectionate. This is a breed that is not talked about but the American Kennel Club recognizes it. It is “Saluki” Ever heard of them?
Well this is not a small dog when they reach adult size their height is 23-28” and weight is 29-66 lbs. The Saluki has the appearance of total grace. Known for their speed. They have a body that resembles a greyhound with feathering ears and tail. Their eyes are thin and usually light or dark brown. They come in many colors, including fawn, white, black and tan, cream, gold and red. If you are lucky enough to find one with a patch of white on it’s forehead it is regarded as special and said to have “the kiss of Allah”.
Their temperament is even-tempered and sensitive, dignified and very affectionate. However they may become attached to one person in the family. They are good with older children. Because of their build they are not able to do rough play, they are much too fragile for that. They make good watchdogs, but need to be train with lots of love and not harsh words. Because of their speed they will do great running besides you as you take a bike ride but not good company for jogging.
This dog does not do well in extremely hot weather and should not sleep outdoors, because they become very uncomfortable. They also should not live in an apartment they need lots of room and will do better in a large land area. They have an instinct to chase and kill small animals so they should not be kept with non-canine pets.
Their grooming is very easy; they only need occasional brushing paying close attention to the tail and ears. Their origin goes back to the ancient Middle East.

Kooikerhondje
This dog is similar in size and appearance to a spaniel. their coat is somewhat thick, and medium length. It is bi-colored with white and chestnut red being the most common.
Distinctive features are the black tips on its long, feathered ears, which look like earrings. It is said that the longer the earrings, the more desirable the dog is for breeding and showing.
Their legs are often moderately feathered, while its tail is ideally heavily feathered with white fur. Its muzzle is fairly thin sort of like a spaniel’s. The eyes are dark and tend to have an alert expression.
This dog was bred as an all-purpose dog. They are friendly, yet watchful temperament also makes them a ideal watchdog and family companion. Kooikerhondje can be easily trained without much stress on the trainer. The like and lots and lots of the personal attention.
They will do better when he or she has a great deal of opportunity for exercise. Outdoor or rural areas are ideal, but suburban area can work if nearby parks that is large enough to fulfill the Kooiker’s need for energetic activity. Also keep in mind that a fenced area is helpful to keep the Kooiker from chasing small animals and getting lost.

Living Area: Due to their size Toy Poodles need to be indoor. They do very well in urban and country living. As long as they get to be playful. They do not need a yard and they do great in an apartment.
They are very energetic, intelligent, and elegant appearing small dog. Their feet are rather small and oval in shape. Toes are arched, with thick hard pads for good cushioning. They have an independent personality and are a playful companion.
Temperament
The Toy Poodles intelligence is renowned; they can be taught all different tricks through various skill levels. They appear to enjoy performing and entertaining their owners. They are one of the easiest and brightest breeds to train. It is alert, responsive, playful, and eager to please. (Side note I trained Romeo in less than a week)
They can be shy with strangers and should be socialized as a puppy. They tend to love children interaction with their owners. They will bark to defend or warn their owners but tend to be more reserved then other small toy breeds. (I think Romeo forgot this part)..
Training techniques that work well for Toy Poodles include treats, toys, and most importantly praise. Because of their personalities rewarding with praise is a great way to get them to learn new things.
